My Story
I was born and raised in Washington D.C. When I came out of High School I ventured out to attend an online Interior Designer course.
One day I had begun to receive in the mail with carpet samples and workbooks I was so excite. As I began to study and I read one sentence from the study book. “ As an interior designer you must be competent” . At 17 I new I was incompetent I knew barely anything so I discontinued my class.
I tried real estate I was not able to pass the exam. I wandered in life for years.
In my mid forties I wanted to pursue again Interior Design however Uni of Phoenix did not offer that curriculum. So I chose Business Management. I received my Bachelors degree in BM from the University of Phoenix. After completing that schooling I was still needing and longing for Interior Design so I began taking online courses in the Design field. I am certified in Interior Design from Alison Online Course, Home Staging from NYIAD online course as well as CAD software from New York Institute of Art (NYIAD).
Growing up my Mom loved to rearrange our home often. And thats where I got stuck. Growing up in a home with a country Mom every girl child is gonna know how to cook! However I never graduated to the kitchen "cooking" I loved decorating. So i vowed to myself I will decorate my own home and that will be it. So here I am, my own home was not enough! I could not get it off my mind, I bored my Mom with the design shows. Before my Mom passed she said to me "You don't even have a sledge hammer" In other words my Mother was telling me go after your dream!
